Certificate III in Children Services


Course Duration: 6 months (including 240 hours of practicum working in a childcare) Common Course Requirements: 

  1. Must have graduated year 11 in home country
  2. Must have a minimum of IELTS 5 in all 4 components

Course Outcome:

  • Assistant in a Childcare Centre
  • Assistant in Family Day Care Provider

Pathways: Most Certificates in Early Childhood Education courses provide a pathway to Diploma of Early Childhood Education. 


Diploma Of Early Childhood Education


 Course Duration: 1 year (including 240 hours of practicum working in a childcare) Common Course Requirements:

  1. Must have graduated year 11 in home country
  2. Must have a minimum of IELTS 5 in all 4 components

Course Outcome:

  • Qualified Child Care Group Leader
  • Family Day Care Coordinator

Pathways: Most Diploma of Early Childhood Education courses provide a pathway to Bachelor or Bachelor of Education majoring in Early Childhood. If you complete a Diploma of Early Childhood Eduction, you may be given Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) for your Bachelor of Education and reduce the time of the course significantly.


Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)


Course Duration: 3 years

Common Course Requirements: 

  1. Must have graduated year 12 in home country
  2. Must have a minimum of IELTS 6.5 in all 4 components

Course Outcome: Graduates will be eligible for registration with the Teacher Registration Board in the state they completed their studies. Registration is recognised by all national teacher accreditation authorities

  • Childcare Centre Manager
  • Primary School Teacher
  • Child Care Coordinator
  • Education administrator
  • Policy development officer.

Education Pathways:

Early Childhood Education (241111) is currently on the Skilled Occupation List. The current skill level required for general skilled migration as of December 10th is:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education (Early Childhood Education)

If undertaking a bachelor degree in Australia you may qualify for the Temporary Graduate Visa. The benefit of this visa is, it gives you from 18 months – 4 years of unlimited work rights in Australia.
